WHAT: 14h annual AutoZone Nationals presented by Pennzoil, the 19th of 24 events in the $50 million NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series. Professional competitors in four categories earn points leading to 2001 NHRA Winston championships. Sportsman competitors in seven categories earn points leading to 2001 NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series championships.

WHERE: Memphis Motorsports Park, Millington,Tenn. Track is located at 5500 Taylor Forge Road. From 1-240, drive north on highway 51. Turn right on Barret Parkway, turn right on Raleigh-Millington Road, turn right on Fite Road and then right on to Taylor Forge Road.

WHEN: Thursday through Sunday, September 20-23.

PURSE: Cash and contingency awards of more than $1.9 million.

SCHEDULE:

Thursday, September 20 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Qualifying and sportsman time trials, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday, September 21 -- Gates open at 7a.m. Qualifying and sportsman eliminations, 8 a.m. to 9 PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 3 and 6 p.m.

Saturday, September 22 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Qualifying and sportsman eliminations, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Sunday, September 23 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m. FINAL ELIMINATIONS begin at 11 a.m.

TELEVISION: Saturday, September 22, ESPN2 will televise two hours of qualifying highlights at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 23, ESPN2 will televise one hour of early round coverage at noon Sunday, September 23, ESPN2 will televise two hours of final round coverage at 11 p.m. (ET).
