MYERS AND UNDERDAHL JOIN FORCES IN NHRA PRO STOCK BIKE

FOREST LAKE, Minn. - Greg Underdahl, rider of the NCN Communications backed Suzuki Pro Stock bike, and John Myers, former rider for Star Racing, announced recently their joining together in forming a new drag race team. "It's exactly what I have needed for a long time" explained Myers, "Greg and I have been friends for ever and have always kidded about teaming up. Since leaving Star Racing I have received several calls offering rides, this one just made the most sense."

Myers, now in his tenth year of motorcycle drag racing, brings with him 33 NHRA national event wins, 3 NHRA championships, 3 AMA/Prostar championships, and had made the Car Craft Magazine All-star team 4 four times.

Both will be competing on identically prepared Trac Dynamics-chassis, featuring Suzuki GSXR replica bodies, and using engines supplied by Byron Hines' Colorado-based Freedom Motorsports.

Since both riders share similar riding styles, they will gain tremendously by comparing notes after each round. Their goal is through teamwork, to become a dominating force in NHRA Pro Stock Bike competition.

The duo is still seeking financial backing for Myers ride, however short term help is being provided by the Million Dollar Drag Race series held at Huntsville Dragway. Dynatek Electronics, Vance and Hines Racing, Trac Dynamics and RC Components, have also come aboard as associate sponsors.

The Myers-Underdahl team is set for competition at the remaining six NHRA Winston national events featuring the Pro Stock bike class. -30-
