Melanie Troxel Set For Sonoma Weekend
Infinenon Raceway Sears Point

In-N-Out Burger Funny Car ready to wow the fans this time through
The last time Melanie Troxel rolled the In-N-Out Burger Toyota Funny Car onto the track in the back yard of the restaurant's home territory, the results were less than stellar.
However, a lot has changed in a few months, and Troxel said the In-N-Out car will be a different beast at this weekend's FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon Raceway.
"The last time we ran a race for them we were really struggling with our performance," Troxel said. "It's exciting to head back out and get back to a tuneup we're a little more comfortable with than in the high altitude we had in Denver.
"We've improved our performance all the way around, and I'm confident we'll put on a good show for everyone when we get to Sonoma."
The In-N-Out-Burger Toyota failed to qualify for the first five races of the season, but the R2B2 Racing-prepped machine has not missed a race in the seven events since then, and has picked up round wins in three of the last five races.
The track in Sonoma is one of the best on the NHRA Full Throttle Series schedule, but Troxel cautioned not to confuse "good" with "easy."
"Any time you think, 'Oh this should be an easy track.' It turns out to not be that way," she said. "It can be hot with intense sun like many other tracks we go to. However, you also get that evening air roll in where you can see some pretty big numbers put on the board.
"The important thing is going to be how you run in the heat of the day, so you can be best prepared for Sunday."
