NHRA Pro Stock driver Shane Tucker will partner with Book Racing Enterprises as its engine supplier for the 2015 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

Tucker plans a part-time effort behind the wheel of the Auzmet Architectural Chevrolet Camaro, with a possible debut at Chicago's Route 66 Raceway in July.

BRE owner Bob Book is a longtime engine builder who has recently worked with 400-cid engines. Book and Tucker's father Rob will work together to build the 500-cid engines for Pro Stock.

"Our plan has always been to run our own motors," Tucker said. "If we want to stick around long-term in the NHRA, this is the only way to go. Our main focus right now is establishing Auzmet Architectural in Dallas, Texas, and while I am concentrating on that, Book and Dad will be working on the motor program."

Auzmet Architectural is a successful architectural firm in Tucker's native country of Australia but is expanding to the United States.

"We are working with Bob Book to continue to develop our own motors for when we return to competition, hopefully by the Chicago race," Tucker said. "My dad and Book will be working together. Bob has been extremely successful on his 400-cid small-block program, running 6.87 (seconds) at 200 mph. He will implement the knowledge gained into the 500-cid program."

BRE has fast customers

BRE Competition Carburetors have been on some of the quickest and fastest gas-powered cars in drag racing, including those of Mike Edwards, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Justin Humphreys, Dave Connolly, and Larry Morgan.

"I am big-time excited and confident to get an opportunity to develop another 500-cid program," Book said. "Our power increases over the last six months with our 400-cid deal should really help on the NHRA stuff and really give us a chance to run near the top. Also, my friendship with Rob and Janine is a big plus as my wife and I are all the same age, so we have a lot in common. It should make working together very enjoyable."

Tucker appreciated working with Elite Motorsports in Pro Stock but was ready to move forward with the family program.

"The folks at Elite Motorsports have been like family to me, and I can't thank them enough on how they treated my family and I," Tucker said. "We were given the absolute best opportunity when racing with them. In the end my dad is a motor guy and really enjoys the challenge of making power."
