PERFECTLY STRANGE PERFORMANCE AWARD THROUGH 2010 SEASON
GLENDORA, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2008) - The NHRA Perfectly Strange Performance Award program, which rewards Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street racers for running exactly on their index or dial-in at national and divisional events, has been extended through 2010. "The calls and letters from NHRA Sportsman racers nationwide have been overwhelming," said Jeff Stange, President of Strange Engineering. "With this program, racers are experiencing the same high level of service we provide with our products and it has been great for our customer relations. With that in mind, we are announcing the extension of the NHRA Perfectly Strange Performance Award through 2010."
Strange Engineering has paid out more than 275 awards for a total of $188,250 over the years. A Perfectly Strange Performance Award of $250 and a "Winners Only" commemorative hat is awarded to the first racer in each of the five NHRA Sportsman classes running right-on his or her dial-in or index during a winning round at all NHRA national events their class competes. The program for 2008 also will include the NHRA SPORTSnationals. In addition, if a Perfectly Strange winner has either the proper Strange axle or Strange strut contingency decals and the corresponding components, the award is doubled to $500. If the award is not claimed at a race, it rolls over to the next national event at which that class is contested, adding $250 each time until it is claimed. Perfectly Strange winners at divisional events receive the commemorative hat.
To be eligible for the awards, racers must prominently display the NHRA Perfectly Strange Performance Award decals (on both sides of the car during eliminations). The decals are available at the tech trailer at all NHRA national and division events at the as well as NHRA headquarters, division offices, and Strange Engineering.
