DIXON RACES MILLER LITE DRAGSTER TO FOURTH POSITION THURSDAY AT POMONA

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2005) -- Two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon drove his Dick LaHaie-tuned Miller Lite dragster to the fourth quickest pass of Thursday's opening qualifying session at historic Pomona Raceway as qualifying began for the 41st annual Auto Club Finals.

Dixon, who enters the race second in the POWERade Top Fuel standings, powered the Miller Lite/Ameriquest dragster to a performance of 4.549 seconds 324.20 mph to finish fourth in the 16-car order with three qualifying sessions remaining at the 2005 NHRA season-finale.

"We went from point A to point B and got our car qualified for the show," Dixon said. "That's the important thing. We ran a number that is good enough to make the cut."

Dixon and the Miller Lite team look to remain in the top half of the Top Fuel order when qualifying resumes Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. (PT).
