R2B2 Racing 2011 sponsor news 2010-12-27

Red Line Oil re-ups with Troxel, R2B2 Racing

DULUTH, Ga. (Dec. 27) -- The sky is the limit for Red Line Oil and R2B2 Racing, which is why the two companies are continuing their partnership in 2011.

Red Line Oil will remain the "Official Oil of R2B2 Racing" and be bannered as a sponsor on the In-N-Out Burger Funny Car driven by Melanie Troxel in the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series and the Pro Mod cars driven by Roger Burgess, Brad Personett, and Troxel in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series.

"The vast majority of the people working at R2B2 on both the Funny Car and all three Pro Mod cars are people we've worked with very successfully for many years," said Red Line Oil's Cameron Evans. "They're smart people who help us develop our products and they always represent themselves and our company very well at the drag strip.

"The R2B2 racecars perform as well as any in the business."

Troxel said the entire operation is excited to have Red Line back on board.

"Red Line is a product the team has trusted for years," Troxel said. "Our crew chiefs, Al Billes and Aaron Brooks, trust Red Line's products to help them produce winning horsepower, and we look forward to winning with them under the hood once again this year."

Evans said the addition of Personett and his record-setting turbocharged Pro Mod racer is especially exciting.

"We think the turbocharged angle brings a whole new wrinkle to Pro Mod racing," Evans said. "We've been a part of Pro Mod racing since the early 90s. We love racing with Brad and it's really cool he came over to race with people we already had an outstanding relationship with."

The Funny Car season starts with the Feb. 24-27 with the Kragen O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif. The Pro Mods start their year March 11-13 at the Tire Kingdom Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.
