Harker adds another 'Wally' with WIN at the Texas Motorplex

Steve Harker Dallas Division 4 Ennis, TX. - Australian veteran driver, Steve Harker wheeled his I40, Inc Chevy Monte Carlo to his third consecutive final of the NHRA season. This past weekend's event at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas showcased the South Central Division Four season opener with Harker leaving on top once more.

Harker qualified his Top Alcohol Funny Car in the number 1 position with an impressive 5.623 seconds run at 250.13 mph to give the team a tenth over the field. Track management decided to cancel Sunday's elimination schedule due to unfavorable weather forecast. Eliminations began on Saturday afternoon running to completion that night.

Harker would line up against first round opponent from the Houston event one week previous, Ro Yale who qualified in the number eight position. Yale was off the starting line first but did not have the power to hold Harker back who ran another 5.636 seconds at 244.96 mph pass.

In the semi-finals Harker matched up against fellow division four veteran driver, Burl Brown who did all he could leaving first off the line. But again the power of the Harker Motorsports Chevy Monte Carlo was undefeatable as Harker put down another consistent 5.635 at 255.77 mph run.

Harker had lane choice going into the final round against Kebin Kinsley who tried his best leaving on Harker. Kinsley was unable to match the consistent times of Harker who wheeled his machine to the events fastest and quickest pass with 5.589 seconds at 256.75 mph for the event win.

"What can we say, we found consistency here this weekend" comments Harker "We just went one round at a time and tried not to beat ourselves. My team did a flawless job like always and a special thank you to our sponsors, fans and supporters."

Harker was the only Top Alcohol Funny Car team in the five-sixties and the five-fifty second elapse times all weekend. This was Harker's second win and third consecutive final round for the season with a runner-up in Gainesville, FL and a National event win last weekend in Houston, TX.

Steve and the team will travel back to their race shop in Gainesville, GA until their next event across May 15-17 at Houston Raceway Park for round two of the South Central Division Four series.
