In Funny Car, Beckman with crew chief Todd Smith took advantage of a 90-minute rain delay on Saturday night and capitalized on cooler, optimum weather conditions to record a track-record elapsed time of 4.018 seconds at 314.61 mph. It is the quickest run of Beckman's 149-event career.

Beckman's record qualifying effort in the Valvoline NextGen Dodge Charger R/T is the second pole of the season for the team and sixth time in the last seven events that Beckman and Smith qualified no lower than third.

Beckman and Smith were fastest of the four DSR Funny Cars after Friday's two sessions.

DSR drivers will start Sunday's eliminations seeded first, fourth (Johnny Gray), fifth (Ron Capps) and eighth (Matt Hagan).

In Top Fuel, Schumacher locked up the 70th pole of his U.S. Army career on Friday night when his slightest faster speed edged DSR teammate Antron Brown for the pole after each ran 3.791 seconds.

Brown qualified second and DSR teammate Spencer Massey is seeded third.
