JET Makes Strong Commitment to Scott Griffin Motorsports/FRAM Top Fuel Team

Scott Griffin, owner of the Cory McClenathan-driven FRAM Top Fuel dragster, Friday announced a new partnership with JET, maker of woodworking and metalworking machinery, air tools and material handling equipment.

"We welcome JET to the team," said Griffin. "This is the company's first foray into racing and we are excited to be able to introduce JET to NHRA drag racing and its many fans. I've been familiarizing myself with JET's industrial and woodworking catalog. There are all kinds of products available to the 80,000 NHRA members, from the professional to sportsman categories. It's a pleasure to have them on board."

JET joins FRAM, Torco Racing Fuels, JEGS, GMC, Mac Tools, Lucas Oil, Nordic Boats, Seelye-Wright Automotive Group, Motel 6, Serta and Lucas Cycles as team sponsors.

"The addition of a quality company like JET to our partnership base is definitely a positive step," said Griffin, of Wilmington, N.C. "It definitely helps our race team. We want a strong finish to the season. We believe our FRAM car can be a contender."

McClenathan, currently 10th in points, is one of the sport's top drivers. He has 29 career victories.

"Obviously JET makes a lot of different types of machines," said McClenathan. "I know a lot of people who do a lot of woodwork and they use JET equipment. In metalwork-wise, we use some of their lathes. They make vices and they sell a lot of stuff to Mac Tools and a lot of people we do business with already.

"It's a great company to have on our car and to be part of our team. I want to welcome them to our sport and look forward to doing more business with them. I think they will find the people who come to NHRA POWERade drag racing are definitely the people who use their equipment back at home and back at the shop, so I think it's a good fit for everybody."
