REYNOLDS, Ga. -- Over 425 racers in 10 categories commanded the strip this weekend at Silver Dollar Raceway, which completed the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series for the Southeast division. In the end, Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Bill Reichert of Owosso, Mich., took home the final win light as well as the National Championship. Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Steve Harker out of Gainesville, Ga., continued his dominance and added to his lead in the South Central division standings by scoring the win.
Reichert, seizing back to back NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series National Championships, went the distance out of the top qualifying position. The newly crowned champ posted a final run of 5.307 seconds at 274.66 mph defeating Bill Evans of Miramar, Fla. This gives Reichert the hat trick obtaining his third straight divisional event win.
