WHAT: NHRA professional category racing teams will be testing in preparation for the upcoming 2000 NHRA Winston Drag Racing season.
WHERE: Southwestern International Raceway, Tucson, Ariz. Track is located at 11300 S. Houghton Rd. Head east on I-10, exit 275. Travel south on 275, the track is located on the right.
WHEN: Thursday through Sunday, Jan. 20-23, 2000.
SCHEDULE:
THURSDAY, Jan. 20 - Testing time trials scheduled all day.
FRIDAY, Jan 21 - Testing sessions will start at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. SATURDAY, Jan. 22 - Testing sessions will start at 10 a.m,, noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
SUNDAY, Jan. 23 -- Testing sessions will start at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
PARTICIPANTS: Tony Schumacher, 1999 NHRA Winston Top Fuel champion; Budweiser King Racing, the first team to break the 300 mph barrier; John Force, nine- time NHRA Winston Funny Car champion; Tony Pedregon, finished second in 1999 NHRA Winston Funny Car points; Whit Bazemore, No. 3 in 1999 NHRA Winston Funny Car points; Gary Scelzi, 1997 & 1998 NHRA Winston Top Fuel champion; Bruce Sarver, E-moola.com Pontiac Firebird Funny Car driver; Cory McClenathan, 1999 US Nationals Top Fuel winner; Doug Kalitta, driver of the Kitty Hawk Top Fuel dragster; Dean Skuza, driver of the Matco Tools Dodge Daytona Funny Car; Gary Densham, driver of the NEC/Auto Club Pontiac Firebird Funny Car; Del Worsham, driver of the Checker Schuck's Kragen Pontiac Firebird Funny Car; and Frank Pedregon, driver of the Checker Schucks Kragen Pontiac Firebird Funny Car.
