There has been plenty going on at the Team Jeg's R&D facility since the Pro Stock Truck engines returned early this month from the race in Atlanta. The team has been busy trying a host of new engine combinations to find a competitive advantage.

"Scott, Hans, Ed, Rick and Wayne have been working nonstop since the rig returned from Atlanta. The engines were taken immediately out of the trailer and went straight on the dyno. New combinations have been tried and we are pleased with some of the results," explained Mike.

"The guys have been working on a host of new cylinder heads, blocks and just about everything else. About the only thing that hasn't changes is the Jeg's stickers on the valve covers," said John.

Mike and his yellow and black Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10 are currently sitting in the No. 8 spot. He has 178 points. Mike can move up as high as the No. 5 position with a strong performance this weekend.

"Our entire team is very optimistic about our program right now and we are all looking forward to the next two races. I think that we have a new beginning to our season when we get to Topeka," commented Mike.

John Coughlin and his Jeg's machine are in the No. 21 spot with 82 points. He is 89 points from breaking back into the top ten. With strong back-to-back finishes at the next two races John can return to the top ten

"I am really looking forward to putting my helmet on and getting back behind the wheel of the Jeg's Chevy S-10 this week. There is a new energy level that surrounds our team and that is really exciting to be a part of," explained John.

John and Mike Coughlin will be very focused on qualifying. The Advanced Auto Parts Nationals is the finial race for the Pro Stock Truck class to gain points for the annual Holley Dominator Duel. This special all-star race takes the eight most consistent qualifiers and puts them head-to-head. Mike is currently sitting in the No. 5 spot with 1480 points. John has 1215 points and sits on the bubble in the No. 8 position.

"Our team will be focused on qualifying strongly in Topeka. I think that if we are in the top half, the rest will take care of itself," said Mike.

"Our goal is to out qualify anyone who is behind me in the qualifying points. If that happens we will have lane choice during the race in Topeka and be in the Holley Dominator Duel for the second straight year," explained John with a smile.
