Supported by Nissan Canada, the 2018 Micra Cup calendar features three meetings in each Ontario and Québec.

The road racing series for spec Nissan Micras begins its fourth season in May.

The series was created in 2015 and saw Olivier Bédard capture the first title. Xavier Coupal claimed the honors in 2016 while Bédard collected a second title last year.

"Over the years we’ve seen strong growth in fan and driver interest for the Micra Cup and we’re excited to announce that we’ve signed a three-year extension to ensure racing fans will get their fix for at least the next three years,” said Joni Paiva, president of Nissan Canada Inc.

“Given the success the series has had, we’re thrilled to keep that momentum going and provide a high-quality racing experience unlike any other in Canada.”

"We’re excited for drivers and racing fans alike to experience the fun that’s in store in the fourth year of the Micra Cup," said Jacques Deshaies, owner of JD Promotion & Compétition and the serie’ promoter.

"With an effort to bring the country’s most affordable racing series to Ontario and Quebec with three events each, we are looking forward to putting on a show for racing fans and helping prospective drivers realize a dream.”

The series will travel to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park twice, will race at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant twice too and will also visit Calabogie Motorsport Park (making a return there in 2018) and will be part of the prestigious Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. Two races are held at each meeting.
