Bryce MENZIES BLAZES Bully Dog Trophy Truck to Top 3 Finish at Inaugural BITD Parker 200!

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Menzies Motorsports took to the starting line of the inaugural BITD Parker BlueWater Challenge this past weekend in the blaze red #70 Bully Dog Trophy Truck and earned a solid third place among the world's top desert racers.

The new race featured a 2-day format strewn over a 27-mile loop through the desolate desert bordering the famed Colorado River. Racers contended with warm temperatures and heavy dust that hung just about eye level as they raced three laps each day.

Bryce Menzies led the team into the Arizona desert qualifying in the top five on Thursday afternoon and that set the stage for Saturday's first of two races in the two-day event.

On Saturday, the #70 Bully Dog sponsored race truck charged from the start line and began the race with a fast pace as others experienced issues and by the 20-mile mark, the Las Vegas racing phenom put his truck in the third position running behind Andy McMillin and BJ Baldwin.

"We had a good start and made progress through the field as trucks dropped off, but once we caught up to BJ Baldwin, it was so dusty we couldn't get by him. BJ told me later that he drove as fast as he could and the truck couldn't go any faster, but we had more to give. I was hoping to get by BJ and race against Andy McMillin, I feel we had a faster truck than BJ this weekend, but we never got a chance to run outside the dust," said Bryce Menzies.

With the heavy dust and lack of wind, the desert was difficult to navigate as many trucks suffered damage and a plethora of flat tires when they got outside the two-track racecourse.

Menzies Motorsports Navigator, Pete Mortensen, explained, "The dust was so heavy and thick, it was a complete black out at times. I was glued to the GPS monitor as we were nearly racing in the dark at different times on the racecourse. During Saturday's race, we could not make up time on Andy because we were in the thick dust of BJ and the same thing happen to us on Sunday as BJ got around Steve Sourapas and then we got stuck behind Sourapas and his dust. Bryce drove excellent in both races, we just had nowhere to pass and to get to the front. We are knocking on the door of victory in this #70 Bully Dog race truck."

Since debuting the #70 Trophy Truck, the team has earned a top ten in each of its outings including winning the BITD Silver State 300 and finishing the very challenging SCORE Baja 500 where Bryce Menzies finished the 10 hour race in seventh position. Earlier this season, Bryce drove to a fourth place finish at the legendary SNORE Mint 400. Shortly after the MINT 400, he took on the longest point-to-point off road racing in the United States, the ever so difficult BITD Vegas to Reno race where the team earned a solid seventh place finish.

Steve commented, "The team has rallied around the desert program and we have made great strides this season. Finishing in the top three among the best in the business is something to be proud of. The entire team worked hard and Bryce drove a great race. As our race program continues to grow, the team keeps stepping it up and I couldn't be happier with their excellent performance."

Next up for Menzies Motorsports is the Lucas Oil Off Road Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on November 5-7 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Bryce Menzies and the team will face off with the titans of short course racing.
