PMC Racing Dusts the Competition at the BITD Desert Challenge

Parker, AZ - Heading into the weekend of the inaugural Best in the Desert Blue Water Desert Challenge, the PMC Racing team sought revenge on a desert that had gotten the best of them during races the past two years. This time was different, when the checkered flags waved, PMC Racing stood atop the podium in the 8100 Stock Full class. "Coming into the race we new we had a good chance to take the class win because of our knowledge of the area from our years of living in the Arizona desert, our biggest concern was having a truck that was in good enough shape to win the race on Sunday," commented Trent Beaver driver of the PMC Racing #8105 Stock Full Ford truck.

As the green flag waved for race action to start, the PMC Racing stock full started fifth in class out of five starters. The #8105 stock full truck quickly went to work on the field passing two vehicles in class by race mile five. After that, Trent had his work cut out for him chasing down the two class leaders as he tried to work his way forward through the thick dust. "The dust was terrible, it was possibly the thickest dust I have ever raced in, and with BITD not having a pre-run before the race and no GPS for the first lap I was running blind," said Trent. The stock full running order stayed the same for the next fifty miles with the three leaders running within one minute of each other. However, as dust continued to thicken, the bad luck that PMC Racing often experienced in this Arizona desert struck both lead trucks in the stock full class. "I was just trying to keep a good pace during day one that would give us the best opportunity to win on day two and take the weekend win, by doing this we lucked out today as on lap three at race mile eight we got around one competitor who was stuck in the deep sand and at race mile ten we got around the race leader who was experiencing power steering issues. This was probably the first time all day I actually got to see the course, because of how tight the racing was and because of how bad the dust was," stated Beaver. Once the PMC truck took the lead on lap three they never looked back having 3:08 in hand at the finish line to take the day one win.

The two-day event format for the BITD Blue Water Desert Challenge is unique because the racers are able to work on their vehicles between races, which is different from all the other events on the Best in the Desert race schedule. The PMC Racing team then headed back to their race shop based in Parker, Arizona to look over things and make adjustments to the truck for day two of the race. "The truck was in great shape after day one of the event and I was really comfortable with how the truck was working and performing so we double checked our setup for day one to see if anything had been knocked out of alignment, topped off the fluids, and we were ready to lay it on the line for day two," stated Trent Beaver.

We knew after day one of the event that Trent had put himself in a good position to win the event, so we game planned to have Trent stay out front and let the heavy dust dictate the outcome of the race," commented Dan Beaver owner and head of operations for the PMC Racing off-road team. At the end of lap one on day two, Trent had separated himself from the second place truck and the PMC Racing team then knew it was a matter of just getting the truck to the finish line, and that was exactly what they did to take the weekend win in the stock full class by nearly thirteen minutes.

"Heading into the inaugural BITD Blue Water Challenge we had high expectations of finishing well, and without the preparation and team behind me that wouldn't have been possible, but we executed our game plan perfectly and I was able to keep the truck moving forward to get the win," said Trent driver of the #8105 stock full at the finish line.
