MacCachren Leads Huge Field of BITD Parker 425 racers as FASTEST Qualifier

Parker, Arizona (February 5, 2009) The Best in the Desert Parker 425 kicked off with a bang on Thursday afternoon as the nation's top desert racers lined up for the ever so popular BITD Qualifying. MacCachren arrived to the BITD Parker 425 to race in both Class 1500 and Class 8000.

In the mid-afternoon, the Las Vegas racer climbed behind the wheel of the CORONA Cerverza Class 1500 fitted with BFGoodrich Tires, FOX RACING SHOX and Mastercraft Race Seats. Steve Sourapus owns the Scott Prill prepped Class 1500 buggy. MacCachren railed the ultra fast car setting the fastest qualifying time among a long list of race qualifiers.

MacCachren commented, "I ran the car fairly timid because I don't have a whole lot of time in this particular car. I tested the car last weekend in Plaster City, but other than that it's fairly new to me. The car ran fantastic and felt really good. Leading off the line first will be an advantage in the first lap, but then the real work will begin as the second and third laps will be very busy with race traffic. Steve Sourapus is racing in the Alumicraft Class 1500 and I'll be racing his car from start to finish, so we'll see how it plays out on Saturday afternoon. It's really a long race, but the Parker 425 is one of my favorite races of the season and we will be charging all day long."

MacCachren will be working overtime on race day. After completing the entire race in the CORONA Cerveza Class 1500, he will change driving suits and jump behind the wheel of the Class 8000 FORD SVT Raptor.

Rob MacCachren will be the driver of record for the 2009 BITD FORD Raptor campaign. "I'm excited to race the FORD Raptor. We're going to campaign the entire BITD season in this truck and were looking forward to racing hard and putting the FORD Raptor in the winner's circle. All of the other BITD races I'll will be driving the majority of the race miles, but when the Raptor deal came around I had already committed to racing the CORONA Cerveza Class 1500, so this race I'll be doing some double duty, " explained the smiling desert racing champion.

Rob MacCachren has a full race schedule slated for the 2009 off road racing season. He will race his new AlumiCraft single-seat 1600 car in SNORE, a ROCKSTAR Pro-2 in the short course series, the #3 ROCKSTAR Riviera Racing Trophy Truck in the SCORE Desert Series in addition to the FORD SVT Raptor in the Best in the Desert Series.
