Team USA - off road Goes to Antigo - Army only!

The Big news for the weekend was the missing Marines truck of Larry Gourlie. Larry hurt his neck in Lake Odessa in round 2 and was unable to make the trip to Antigo. Larry will not drive for the remainder of the season. His truck will, however be continuing on.

Team USA OFF Road would like to announce the addition of Andy McMillin as the Driver of #27 Marines Pro 2 Chevy. Andy is the 2004 Score Rookie of the year, and current Baja 500 Class 1 winner. Andy and his family have agreed to fill the driving duties of Larry and continue the Marines Pro 2 program for the remainder of the season. Team USA Off Road is very fortunate to have acquired such a promising young driver and we look forward to having Andy on the team.

We will be sending a separate Press release on the addition of Andy and his BIO. Welcome to the McMillin family and the long history they bring to CORR.

Kevin had to do solo duty in Pro 2 in Antigo Wi. The U.S.Army truck was standing tall in Antigo as the area guard was called to active duty earlier in the week. Many news reporters and tv interviews were completed over the 3 days in Antigo. Good luck to all the soldiers who left Antigo to serve our country and allow US Citizens to enjoy our way of life.

The U.S.Army had recruiters present to talk to the roughly 8000 in attendance. Command Sergeant Major Ed Evans organized the effort and will be handling the Army presentations throughout the season.

Round 3 started great, Kevin was into turn 1 in the 3rd position. Settling in, Kevin was holding off defending Champ Scott Taylor with Carl Renezeder in 1st, and Evan Evans in 2nd. By lap 3 Evans was out, and Kevin and Taylor in pursuit of Carl. Taylor made a slippery pass on turn one to take position and Kevin maintained 3rd with no challengers until an engine belt broke taking off the remaining belts causing the US Army #99 to park on the side with 2 laps left. Tough day for the team!

Round 4 saw Kevin starting in 9th on the grid. After the green, Kevin was 4th through the first corner. The race was red flagged for an electrical box that was knocked over by Scott Douglas in a turn one mishap. After restaging, the #99 was not as fortunate as in the first start with Kevin coming through turn one in 8th. Lap after lap, Kevin picked off trucks to make it to 4th just behind the leaders. And that's how it ended. Josh Baldwin got his first Pro 2 win, followed by Renezeder, Taylor and Kevin.
