MacCachren MASTERS Glen Helen Raceway -- SWEEPS Weekend!

Las Vegas, NV --Off road racing return to Southern California as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series arrived to the famed Glen Helen Raceway, entertaining a sold out crowd of dirt thirsty off road racing fans. The massive track lights fired up about the same time as the 800 horsepower motors of the Unlimited Pro 4's prepared to kickoff a big weekend of racing. The last race in Southern California was back in December of 2009 when the fans, flocked to Glen Helen Raceway to see the stars of off road racing.

ROCKSTAR's Rob MacCachren arrived with his #21 ROCKSTAR Energy Racing team and set up his ROCKSTAR Energy Racing mobile race shop, signing autographs and chatting with hordes of fans who follow the championship off road racer.

MacCachren is the current point's leader in the highly competitive Lucas Oil Off Road Series Unlimited Pro 2 class. Coming into this new track at Glen Helen Raceway meant the Rockstar Energy Racing team had to work hard at perfecting the correct setup for the #21 Ford F150 Pro 2. MacCachren and his team have endured a busy race schedule so far this year as he continues his quest to earn both the Lucas Oil Series and TORC Series championships in the same year. He also leads the TORC Series Pro 2 point's race for the season championship.

Round 9 -- Saturday Highlights:

MacCachren qualified the #21 Ford F-150 in the second position behind veteran racer, Carl Renezeder, with a lap time of 47.510, averaging 60.619 miles an hour. With the mandatory Lucas Oil Series inversion, Rob started from the inside position of the third row and as the green flag dropped, he drove the #21 Pro 2 through the first two turns, then came out in front. The sold out crowd stood on their feet throughout the entire race, watching 20 of the nation's top Pro 2 race teams battle for position behind Rob.

Leading from the second turn, MacCachren charged his ROCKSTAR / BFGoodrich Tires / Mastercraft Pro 2 through the massive bumps on his FOX Racing Shox and carved turns unscathed to the checkered flag.

MacCachren recounted, "BFGoodrich Tires really gave us a great tire that hooked up near perfectly on the track tonight and that combined with racing a well-prepped truck gave me everything I needed to pull away from the competition. The crew has worked really hard at giving me a great truck each and every race weekend and our victories demonstrate the ability we have to continue to be successful. We are focused on the season championship and we still have a lot of work to do over the next month or two."

Saturday's round 9 victory marks Rob MacCachren's 173rd overall off road racing victory of his short 28-year career.

Round 10 -- Sunday Highlights:

Racing in front of another sold out crowd, the #21 ROCKSTAR Ford F150 was the target for all the competition. Rob MacCachren rolled onto the pristine Glen Helen race track with his truck firing perfectly on all cylinders.

Lucas Oil race officials did not hold qualifying on Sunday morning and Sunday night's starting order was based on finishing order from Saturday night's racing. MacCachren would start on the inside of the third row side-by-side with Bryce Menzies. As the flag dropped, the field of race trucks bolted through the first turn and by the time they had reached the rhythm section just past turn two, the race was red flagged for a crash involving Rob MacCachren's sponsor and friend, Robbie Pierce, the Mastercraft Safety CEO.

A short time later, the green flag dropped and Sunday night's Pro 2 battle under the lights was just as intense as the night before. MacCachren was able to avoid the close quarters racing and raced door-to-door before jumping out to the front once again. By gaining the early advantage of racing in clean air out in front of the pack, MacCachren worked his magic behind the wheel of the #21 ROCKSTAR / BFGoodrich / Mastercraft Safety Pro 2 and claimed the checkered flag in the first position for the second night in a row.

MacCachren commented, "We had a good truck and the race track was in great condition. Lucas Oil officials really did a superb job at developing this new track and with a few adjustments this will be a fantastic facility in the future for off road racing. ROCKSTAR, BFGoodrich Tires, Mastercraft, Pro AM, FOX Racing Shox, Rancho Drivetrain and all of our associate sponsors continue to support our race program. Without them we couldn't compete at this level. Thanks to all involved."

Sweeping both rounds 9 and 10 this weekend at Glen Helen Raceway increases MacCachren's points lead in his race for the 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Unlimited Pro 2 season championship.

Sunday night's race marks the 174thoff road racing victory for Rob MacCachren over his 28-year racing career where he has earned 19 season championships.

Rob MacCachren and his ROCKSTAR Energy Racing team leave immediately for Bark River, Michigan where they will race this weekend in the 2010 TRAXXAS TORC Series.
