Stronghold Motorsports Takes Back To Back Wins In Lucas Oil

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORS) made its only visit to Southern California last weekend, but they made it count by holding the event at the legendary Glen Helen Raceway. The Glen Helen and LOORRS staff designed and constructed a very fast and technical track that proved to be extremely challenging for many teams, yet incredibly exciting for the sold out crowd of fans that attended. The wide track made passing surprisingly possible despite a track length of just 0.8 miles, and the compact layout gave the crowd, which was an emphatic sellout, a great view of all the action.

Despite the ease in passing on the track, no one was passing Marty Hart and his No. 15 Stronghold Motorsports / Maxxis Ford all weekend. Hart qualified 4th on Friday, which put him on the first row for Saturday's Pro Lite Unlimited race, and he never looked back. Proving this was not a fluke in a crowded field of 20 trucks, Marty came back on Sunday to post another victory for Stronghold Motorsports! In 3rd place for the season coming into the race, Marty now sits in 1st place after Glen Helen, with four rounds of LOORS racing remaining. Marty Hart is currently the top ranked Pro Lite driver in the Traxxas The Off Road Championship (TORC) series as well, with the very real possibility of winning both series championships and building upon his 2008 championship season.

Hart's Stronghold Motorsports teammates Rob "Fig" Naughton and Chuck Cheek did not share his success at Glen Helen. Naughton was heading for a podium finish in his #54 Pro 2 Unlimited truck on Saturday until mechanical issues took him out of contention. Sunday's Pro 2 race was the finale of the weekend, and it was full of action and carnage. Naughton got mixed up in this carnage and contact from another truck prevented him from finishing at the front of the pack. 2009 Unlimited Pro Buggy Champion Chuck had his own mechanical gremlins in the #957 Stronghold Motorsports/Maxxis Tires AlumiCraft, limiting his finish position.

While victory is sweet, Stronghold Motorsports recognizes that there is more to life than racing. To this end, they matched donations for the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital during the weekend. Look for more wins from the Stronghold Motorsports camp when LOORS returns to Speedworld in Arizona on September 25th and 26th, where Chuck Cheek won in Unlimited Pro Buggy earlier this season. Can't wait that long? Look for Stronghold Motorsports on Speed Channel's coverage of LOORS racing.
