RFC India: Virdi retakes lead from Santosh on Day 3
Defending champion Gurmeet Virdi reclaimed the top spot in RFC India on Wednesday, dethroning Day 2 leader Siddartha Santosh.
Virdi topped the opening day of RFC India, but slipped 44 points behind Santosh after a difficult Day 2.
On Wednesday, both Virdi and Santosh topped a stage each but a more consistent showing by the Chandigarh-based driver saw him take a narrow six points lead. The Gerrari Offroaders’ ace has scored 1072 points out of a maximum of 1500, while Santosh is close behind with a score of 1066 points.
RFC South India winner Jagat Nanjappa held on to the third spot and remains well in contention for victory heading into Day 3. Cedrick Jordan DaSilva is next up in fourth, with Vivek Thomas Kuriakosse completing the top five.
Malaysia’s Merwyn Lim was the big gainer of the day, jumping from ninth to sixth after setting the fastest time in SS10.
