Engine fixed but luck eludes Reddy

In the nine rounds (27 races) of the 2015 championship, the Indian teen now has 10 retirements to his name due to incidents and car issues.

With Carlin's Lando Norris leading the standings, Double R Racing's Reddy came into the weekend sitting 11th in the championship. Fellow Indian and JTR driver Ameya Vaidyanathan gave the round a miss to compete in the BRDC F4 finale.

The Indian started with two 12th position in the practice session which were lead by Daniel Ticktum (Fortec) and Norris respectively.

Good qualifying

Reddy qualified eighth for race one and was 0.480s off his teammate Matheus Leist who clinched pole from Norris and Carlin's Colton Herta. Several times were disallowed with drivers exceeding track limits including Reddy's time.

"Qualifying was a missed opportunity in a way as we were up in the first sector, but I was told to come in so as to change for a second set of tyres," Reddy told to Motorsport.com

"None the less we qualified eighth and it was looking good for the races."

Taking the second-best time, Reddy was still eighth to start race three as Norris was on pole from Leist and Herta.

Retirement from race one

The first race started off well for the Indian as he immediately gained a place to slot himself at seventh behind Ticktum.

But the battle didn't last really long as Reddy retired from the race on lap six as Norris took the win while Herta finished second and MBM Motorsport's Tobey Sowery clinching maiden podium.

"I was challenging the driver for sixth before my car got stuck in neutral coming out of the last corner which meant I had to retire," he said.

Gritty drive in race two

Having started the second race from last, the Indian was up to 14th by lap five battling hard with Fortec's James Pull.

The two exchanged places lap after lap, but Reddy got the better of Pull by lap 14 and made further progress to move to 10th before he was penalised for exceeding the track limits.

Five seconds penalty meant Reddy dropped to 15th as Arden's Ricky Collard won from JHR's Sennan Fielding and Ticktum.

After the race, the Double R driver felt, it was harsh on stewards' to penalise as everyone around him were too exceeding the track limits.

Incident ends race three

It was a chaotic third race of the Silverstone weekend as only 10 cars crossed the finish line with nine retirements.

Reddy started eighth, but his race didn't last really long as at Luffield corner, Collard and Ticktum made contact which set off a chain reaction.

The incident collected Arden's Sandy Mitchell, SWB's Rafael Martins and Reddy on lap three of the race - the Indian's 10th retirement. Teammate Leist took victory from Herta and Arden's Enaam Ahmed.

"I made a position at the start but was then caught up in the third corner melee which resulted in contact and retirement," a disappointed Reddy said.

Looking back, Reddy lamented another "torrid" weekend but was optimistic about the final race at Brands Hatch as he dropped to 13th in the standings with 82 points.

"With the engine back where it should be I'm confident going into season finale knowing that we can end the year on a high."
