Toronto, Ontario February 4, 2005 - Pickering, Ontario native Christopher Guerrieri is poised to compete at the top level in this seasons USF 2000 ZETEC series. Guerrieri, a protege of the internationally renowned French racing school Elf/La Filiere will campaign his Aiken Motorsport open wheel racer at many of the top tracks in North America. Aiken Motorsport, based in Cumming, Georgia, continues to be one of the top teams in the series bringing experience in both technology and driver training. Marshall Aiken, team owner says of Guerrieri, "It is great to see such a talented driver come to the 2000 series. Knowing how hard it is to find sponsorship in Canada I'm proud Chris has stuck to his goal to become one of the best drivers in the world."
Guerrieri got his start in Kart at the famed Goodwood track north of Toronto, ON. Notable drivers who trained there include Paul Tracey and Scott Goodyear. From there Guerrieri was the factory driver for Hyundai Tiburon team in the Grand Am series which led him to a Canadian championship win in the 2003 Formula Ford 1600 series and Ford of Canada Driver of the Year. Sponsors have benefited significantly from Guerrieri's winning record and infectious media personality. His team of public relations and professional marketing/branding and production experts initiated over 276 million sponsor brand impressions in the 2003 championship year. Through the use of special events, television, radio, print media, internet and hospitality events the mainstream media took notice of Guerrieri and his sponsors. He has appeared on the front page of major newspapers across the country, was featured frequently on sports reports on all the major networks and finished the season with an article in the high circulation publication Motor Trend Magazine. This broad media coverage is being planned for again in the 2005 season. Details on this marketing opportunity can be found by emailing carman@chrisguerrieri.com or sales@northstarpromotions.com .
The series allows for a very high marketing profile for both the sponsors and the drivers. The ZETEC series has produced several of the great drivers in motor sport including Paul Tracey, Greg Moore, Dan Weldon, Alex Barron, Sam Hornish Jr. and Buddy Rice
Guerrieri is on his way to Kershaw, South Carolina in early February 2005 to begin his testing session in the brand new Van Dieman racer prepared for him by Aiken Motorsport.
Guerrieri is the lone Canadian racing in the series this year and plans to do his country proud. He did his hometown proud in 2003 and was awarded the 2004 Pickering Citizen Citation Award for his achievements. When not racing, Guerrieri is committed to working with youth, helping them to aspire to be the best they can be.
