NA-F2000: Mate Precision Tooling joins Paul Dana

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. FEB. 2, 2001: Paul Dana, an up-and-coming rookie in the U.S. F2000 National Championship, has announced that Mate Precision Tooling has joined his team as an associate sponsor. Mate joins current sponsors Forsythe Racing, CAPCO Abrasives, Klein Tools and Indeck.

First test a success: Dana recently traveled to the Homestead Motorsports Complex in South Florida to participate in the season-opening test for the U.S. F2000 National Championship. The two-day test held January 26-27 prepared teams for the first two race weekends on the F2000 schedule, March 3 with Grand-Am and April 7/8 with the Indy Racing Northern Light Series.

"It was great to get the season underway," Dana said. "The guys at AIM Autosport are extremely talented and dedicated, and I think we are going to get along great. Also, the car ran perfectly both days, which is impressive considering we had never turned a wheel before this test."

"I focused on getting back up to speed after having sat out most of last season. We also started to develop the car and made good progress with the road course setup. The cool thing was driving an oval for the first time. My neck sure took a beating!"
