FAIRFIELD, N.J. (May 23, 2002) -- Andersen Walko Racing today announced that Adam Pecorari has joined its Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship team.

Pecorari, of Aston, Pa., joins the front-running team, having previously contested the opening two rounds of the Zetec Championship with another team. Driving the No. 28 SAI Hydraulics/Lucky Design/Arai/Biesse Karts Andersen Walko Racing Van Diemen Ford, Pecorari will partner fellow rookies Andrew and Doug Prendeville for the remainder of the 2003 season.

Prior to entering the Zetec Championship, Pecorari raced karts for over 10 years. Competing both nationally and internationally, Pecorari won numerous races and championships, including two IKF Grand National championships. Last year, he was selected as a finalist for both the 2002 Skip Barber Scholarship and the WKA/SCCA Pro Racing Primus Racing Driver Scholarship.

Created in December of 2001 by the merger of Andersen/Kish Racing and John Walko Racing, Andersen Walko Racing is a team with a rich history of success. Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., Andersen Walko Racing has won the prestigious SCCA Valvoline Runoffs National Championship three times, once in the Formula Ford class and twice in the Formula Continental class. In addition, the team has captured three wins, two pole positions and 15 podium finishes in Zetec Championship competition.

"I am really looking forward to racing with Andersen Walko Racing," said Pecorari. "The team is a first class outfit and I know having two teammates as fast as Andrew and Doug, will push me to become a better driver."

The Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship resumes May 24-26, with Rounds Three and Four of the 2003 season at Lime Rock Park, in Lakeville, Conn.
