BYSTROM SCORES FIRST CAREER F2000 CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES POLE AT ROAD ATLANTA

BRASELTON, GA. (May 11, 2007) - Noah Bystrom captured his first career F2000 Championship Series pole position on Friday morning at Road Atlanta, after the provisional pole winner Cole Morgan was disqualified for being underweight. Joining the Andersen Racing pilot of the front-row for Round Three will be his teammate Terrick Mansur.

Almost immediately following the lone practice session at the renowned Georgia road course, the F2000 Championship Series drivers rolled on-track for a 30-minute qualifying session. Running in formation, the early stages of the session featured Kevin Firelein Motorsports driver Rob Nicholas, Bystrom, Morgan and series newcomer Ricardo Vassmer alternating positions at the top of the speed charts. With the fastest lap regularly being lowered, qualifying was halted for several minor incidents on-course just prior to the midway point of the session. In causing the stoppage, GTP Motorsports pilot Mike Baum, and Greisiger Motorsports driver Doug Kniffin lost their fastest lap in qualifying.

After a brief break, the session resumed with the drivers attacking the course in search of a fast lap. As time winded down, numerous drivers improved their best time. Bystrom, having topped the charts the majority of the session, appeared headed for his first career pole position, when Morgan in his St. Clair Motorsports entry jumped to the top of the speed charts as checkered flag waved.

In post qualifying inspection, Morgan's car was found to be underweight, resulting in his disqualification. With the penalty, Bystrom was promoted to P1, followed by Mansur, Nicholas, VS Racing driver Keegan Van Sicklen and GTP Motorsports pilot Matt McDonough.
