F2000: Another Mid-Ohio Pole for Victor Carbone

Lexington, OH -- 2010 F2000 Champion Victor Carbone made it two for two in Mid-Ohio qualifying, taking his second pole of the weekend in his Alegra Motorsports Van Diemen by two tenths over Daniel Erickson in an early morning session. Carbone's teammate, Fabio Orsolon, will line up third next to Cole Morgan, with Remy Audette rounding out the top five. Carbone clinched the 2010 title yesterday.

"What can I say? The car is really good today," commented Carbone. "I ran a clear, quick lap and then a black flag came out, so we definitely benefitted from that. For the race, the car is way better than yesterday so hopefully we can have a good start and keep the lead."

Daniel Erickson, from Australia, will line up on the outside of the front row and hopes to rebound from a ninth place finish yesterday.

"We made some changes to the car and spent last night going through the entire chassis," Erickson, who is driving an ADSA/Wright owned car prepped by Primus this weekend, said. "We could have pushed for pole as there was more speed in the car, but we ran out of time with the black flags. I'm feeling pretty confident for the race."

Fabio Orsolon will line up on row two alongside 2007 F2000 Champion Cole Morgan. Remy Audette, who finished second yesterday and won at Mosport earlier this year, was fifth fastest.

Phil Lombardi qualified in sixth, followed by Rob Nicholas and Mark Defer. Lombardi can wrap up the Masters Class title this afternoon with a solid finish ahead of Keith McCrone, who qualified 11th.

Yesterday's winner Chris Livengood brought out the black flag midway through the session by spinning in turn one only to be stuck in the gravel. He will start ninth after a two-grid position penalty on the #37 Work Racing entry. 2009 Masters Class Champion, Tom Fatur, rounded out the top ten for GTP Motorsports.

Jonathan Scarallo had an off during the session and will come from the back of the field in the race. Tim Minor will miss today's activities after a crash during yesterday's race.

The 2010 F2000 season concludes this afternoon with round 14 of the Championship, with a scheduled start time of 1:35pm.
