Paul Sammin's good form in the 2000 Formula Vee National Championship continues as the Louisburgh racing driver paid a visit to the winners podium at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire, UK last weekend. The Finn Auctioneers backed Sheane '00 driver's third place finish was secured in one of the Round 7 races of the Dunlop Championship.

The McNamara Builders/Amagruss Sensors backed Formula Vee Novice Champion's race weekend at the overseas venue began on the Saturday with the qualifying race leading up to the points counting final. Starting 2nd on the grid, Paul quickly got to grips with the reverse 'L' shaped circuit and led this 14 lap briefly before eventually finishing third, his best result of the season. His recorded time for this race placed him 8th on the grid for the final. Again, Paul drove a calculated race, keeping up with the front-runners throughout. For his efforts, the 19-year-old came home 5th overall to accumulate 28 points in the championship points classification.

On the inaugural visit to the UK circuit, Paul commented "Cadwell is a most interesting and exciting track. Its high speed corners bring out the best in our 1600 cc VW powered cars. The sunny weather too added to what was an excellent weekends racing."

With two of the biggest races of the season yet to come (at the Phoenix Park and the Leinster Trophy at Mondello) I am determined to continue this good run in front of the record crowds expected at both venues," added Paul.
