Former Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship competitor Brian Angen lost his life this past weekend in a boating accident. He was 23 years old.

Angen competed in the inaugural season of the Formula Dodge National Championship after having been recognized as the Most Improved Driver in the 1999-2000 Western Region of the Skip Barber Race Series. In 2001, Angen went on to race in the Panoz GT Series where he won the opening race at Sebring International Raceway.

The entire Skip Barber family sends their condolences to Rocky and Terri Angen and to his fiancée Shawna.
