National Karting Champion Benny Moon to campaign Formula Dodge National Championship presented by Racer.

Shingle Springs Calif., Paul Tracy Kart driver Benny Moon announced today that he intends to race in the Barber Dodge National Series for 2003.

The 18 year old native Californian qualified off pole in his only 2002 Formula Dodge race at Laguna Seca back in November. Benny's 3rd place finish gave him the confidence needed to consider a serious run at the 2003 Formula Dodge National Championship.

Using the recent regional race at the famous Sebring Raceway in Florida February 15th and 16th as valuable seat time Benny showed continued impressive improvement.

Skip Barber National race director Davina Galica remarked at what an "awesome weekend" Benny had. Qualifying 4th for Saturday's race Ben finished a respectable 3rd. This set his starting position for Sunday's race. Ben continued increasing his comfort level with the Formula Dodge, finishing an impressive 2nd against drivers with numerous years of National and Regional experience. Out of the 82 drivers entered Benny's lap times put him at 4th fastest for the week end.

"I'm very excited about racing in the Barber Dodge National Series" remarked Benny. "The instructors and staff of Skip Barber have already helped me improve my driving and understanding of how the RT 2000 Formula Dodge works."

Right now there are allot of different race series trying to attract young drivers like myself. My goal is to develop my skills and use the talent God has given me to take me as far as possible as a professional driver. I'd like to be in Champ Cars, Indy Cars, ALMS, or even NASCAR. The Skip Barber series is the best place for me right now. Being an official part of the CART driver development ladder the Formula Dodge National Championship puts me in the best position to reach my goals, get into the Barber Pro series, then Atlantics, and on to Champ Cars!"

The first race of the National series is being held with the 12hrs of Sebring March 13th,14th and 15th.
