Poirier scores win for Autohaus Motorsports Mercedes-Benz
Formula Dodge standout Scott Poirier drove his Autohaus Motorsports prepped Mercedes-Benz 190E to victory at the recent SARRC event at Moroso Motorsports Park. Poirier, winner of the 2002 National Championship Runoff, navigated the central Florida track with dexterity, leading the entire 15 lap contest to finish an impressive 25 ticks ahead of his nearest competitor in Improved Touring Class A.
"The 190E was spectacular all weekend," said the 19-year-old racer. "After qualifying I was confident in the way we had the car set-up and knew we had a combination that could win the race. I thank Ken and Paul for all their hard work and effort this weekend. Thanks to Bob [Kirland, President of Autohaus Mercedes-Benz] and Theresa [Kirland, Vice President] for the opportunity to drive for Autohaus Motorsports. A great deal of credit goes to the Skip Barber Racing School, where I learned to race and where I continue to develop my driving skills. Praise God for a great weekend.”
Following the successful action at Moroso Motorsports Park, the SARRC Championship moves on to Homestead Motorsports Complex and then to Skip Barber track offerings; Sebring International Raceway and Daytona International Speedway.
