Petit Le Mans Entry Forms Sent Out

Tampa, FL (August 18, 1998) - The entry forms, event schedule and supplementary regulations for the Petit Le Mans scheduled for Oct 10 at Road Atlanta were distributed this week by Professional Sports Car Racing (SPORTS CAR).

The headline event, the inaugural Petit Le Mans, is a 1000 mile race, with a 10 hour time limit, The event is open to race cars meeting the ACO's 1998 Le Mans Prototype 1 (LMP1) and GT categories, as well as cars meeting SPORTS CAR's 1998 World Sports Car Championship and GT Series Presented by Virgin Interactive regulations,

The Petit Le Mans is sanctioned by Professional Sports Car Racing (SPORTS CAR) and run under license from the Automobile Club de L'ouest (ACO). The event is being promoted by Road Atlanta and will be listed on the FIA calendar.

A select number of cars are guaranteed invitations to the event, These include: the GT and LMP1 category winners from the 1998 Le Mans 24 Hours, along with all category winners from the 1998 Daytona 24 Hour and Sebring 12 Hour races, the defending FIA GT1 and GT2 champions, as well as the defending WSC and GT1, GT2 and GT3 champions from SPORTS CAR.

In addition to the Petit Le Mans feature race on Saturday, October 10, the Petit Le Mans weekend will also include a 3 hour SPEEDVISION Cup for Stock Sports Cars race, a 40 minute Sports Toyota championship race and a 40 minute Barber Dodge Pro Series race
