Todd Lamb Expecting a Smile from Lady Luck at Road Atlanta
BRASSELTON, Georgia - October 8, 1998 - With three Speedvision Cup races under his belt, Todd Lamb is hoping that Road Atlanta will bring a happy ending to a season that has been plagued with mechanical difficulties and racing mishaps. His first race on July 21st in the Van Cleef Racing TRD / Red Line Oil Toyota Supra was cut short by an incident in turn seven at Road Atlanta. Then at Mosport, Computer gremlins put the team 4 laps down from the leader early on, however Todd was able to make up two of those laps. Sebring started off with high hopes and strong potential thanks to a second in class qualifying effort, but on lap 33 the engine let go with a big puff of smoke and engine parts flying down the front straight.
For the season finale at Road Atlanta on October 11th, Todd will again be piloting the #84 Van Cleef Racing Sports class Supra which will feature decals by Flatout Group graphics. Todd is hoping to end his streak of bad luck with a long overdue win.
Todd Lamb - "At this point I'd almost be happy with a finish. My first race at Road Atlanta was a DNF, so this is my second chance to make a first impression at the track. With all the bad luck the Van Cleef team has had this year, I expect to see Lady Luck smiling down on us for this race. The crew has worked hard all year, now it's time for it to pay off with a win."
