MERC: Rally du printemps preview

Lebanon National Rally Championship

The 18th Rally du printemps is the first round of the 2001 Lebanon National Rally Championship. The rally is held near the area of Mount Lebanon and it is on asphalt, like all the rallies in this country.

It is a very special asphalt, as the there is more oil in the Lebanon asphalt, and so there is more slippery conditions there.

The rally will be on Saturday 5th of May and will start from MECHREF CLUB. There will be 3 legs on the rally and it's a one day event.

Sixteen Lebanon rally drivers sign up for the rally and in the top of the entry list there is Doumit BOU DOUMIT and Nabil NJEIM in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V grou- n, Abdo FEGHALI and Marc HADDAD in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI group - a, ABDEL HAK and KOMBOZ in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI group - n, Elie GERMANY and Fadi ATTIEH in VW Golf GTI Kit Car, Rodrigue RAHI and Patrick ZIADE in Lancia Delta HF Integrala, Elie DIB and Georges EL-HAYEK in Peugeot 306 S16.

Abdo Feghali and Marc Haddad are the hot favorite for a win and their main target this year is to take the Lebanon Rally Championship and to make it one step closer to a World Rally Championship level.

The total lentgh of the Rally du printemps is 330 k"m with 105 of them on special stages.
