Saudi Toyota Team for Rallies ended their first participation successfully

The Saudi Toyota Team for Rallies, supported by Abulatif Jamil and Power Horse company, has successfully concluded his first participation when their drivers managed to pass all the 19 Bahrain rally stages, which forms the second round of the Middle East championship.

After all drivers started on board their vehicles, in both classes (A) and (N), the new Toyota team drivers started on board their Toyota vehicles (RAV4which were modified especially for them) they roared the engines in a try to prove themselves as new generation looking forward to join the Arab rally drivers, full with hopes to conclude their first participation successfully.

It is for sure that Sultan Hamdi and his co-driver Ali Alsaiari, Majid Alghamedi and his co-driver Umr Alrifai and Umr Shas and his co-driver Hani Altarazi will never forget the signalman who gave the start signal at the start line for this demonstration round at Bahrain rally. Umr Shas started the race followed by Majid Alghamedi and Sultan Hamdi. The struggle between the three drivers seemed normal to spectators, but in fact it was a struggle for self-assertion among this new generation. The three drivers had drawn the attention of the spectators due to their new dynamic driving style and their high proficiency in conquering the rally stages.

Despite their true efforts to succeed, their task was not trouble free, Mr. Shas's had to leave the rally due to mechanical failure. His colleagues continued the rally until Majid managed to defeat his British instructor in the Rally School Mr. Howard Paterson, in the second day stages and recorded higher marks than him.

Abdullah Bakhashab the owner of the team and the mastermind behind Toyota Cup idea, had expressed his deep happiness to see his team going successfully in his first participation in the first special round of Toyota Cup. He asserted his plans for motor sport development towards better levels and said: "Motor sport is in dire need of new innovations to take it up from being a monotonous sport. Thanks to God that the amazing and successful start of the team and Toyota Cup will form one of the main supportive points for an advanced motor sport". And ended his ward by inviting all motor sport concerned parties to innovate new ideas to assist such development.

The first round of Toyota Cup has been concluded and led by Majid Alghamedi over his colleague Sultan Hamdi after fierce chase between them with a very slight difference, while Umr Shas left the race.

In the closing ceremony of Bahrain Rally, the Saudi Toyota Team for Rallies were honored and were awarded with cups to encourage them to give more in the future.

Toyota Cup is a new category created by Abdullah Bakhashab with full approval and support of FIA as a new category and subject to all applicable rules and regulations.
