SANS THOMPSON/CRAIG MARR WIN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Houghton Michigan -- The Jagged Edge Motorsports Team of Sans Thompson/Craig Marr based in Grass valley, California have won the Production class National Championship in the Rally America Rally Racing series. (www.rally-america.com)

"We had a rather stressful event" states Sans, "this car has given us no problems all year but we fought with things all weekend. while we were running well and beating most of the 2 wheel drive cars it was a broken axle and broken exhaust that finally took us out on the very rough roads here. Even with the problems this was the most fun event we have run. We came here with the Production Class Championship and the 2 wheel drive championship locked up so the finish didn't matter and we drive the snot out of this dodge Neon, it held up great until the exhaust melted a wiring harness and it just wouldn't run".

"After we broke the axle on a jump" continues Craig, "we lost our comfortable lead to Mike Merbach in his Volkswagen, I told Sans we didn't come here to be second, lets win or take it home in a box, he drove it using every inch of the road trying to regain the lead, unfortunately when the main wiring harness melted because of a broken exhaust that was the end, a great ride until then"

The Jagged Edge Motorsports team ends the 2005 Rally America Pro Series with:
2nd Place Oregon
1st Place Pikes Peak Colorado
1st Place Maine
1st Place Minnesota
2005 Production Class National Drivers Championship
2005 Production Class National Co-Drivers Championship
2005 Manufactures Championship
2005 Woodner Cup The 2 wheel drive Championship

"Winning the Woodner Cup was a huge honor to me" says Sans, "Jon Woodner whom the cup is named after was a friend, and this hasn't been won by a production car since 1993, it was a great effort by the team and I can't thank Tom Laeng our crew chief, Karen Wagner, team Manager, and Craig Marr my Co-Driver enough, we would have never got here without their help and support, and of course this Dodge Neon was just fantastic, I couldn't have asked for a better car, and quite honestly there wasn't a better one out there".
