There's mounting anticipation towards the debut test date of the Skelta G-Force that is currently being developed in the Toowoomba workshop of Australia's newest sports car maker.

Skelta Sports Cars Managing Director Ray Vandersee has been juggling numerous other motor racing commitments, but insists the cars proposed launch date of August 21 is still looking good.

"I've been torn between having my Westfield Clubman ready to perform strongly during the Targa Tasmania rally that begins on April 27 and maintaining a daily schedule towards the successful completion of the Skelta prototype," said Vandersee.

"Testing is certainly part of the short term mix but in the mean time we're intent on getting the Skelta brand name out there in the market place.

"Integral to that is ensuring potential buyers of the vehicle are aware of its major attributes and qualities that are based around the 'pure performance, no compromises' slogan of the Skelta G-Force.

"We're using the Targa project as a means of promoting Skelta to a wider audience and the Clubman plus all support vehicles will be decked out with Skelta imagery.

"But from a Skelta perspective, driving in such a competitive environment will also allow us to further fine tune design principles specific to the Skelta G-Force that are also incorporated into the Clubman set up.

It's been a lengthy process to have the Skelta G-Force to its current stage of development.

"As each component is produced we are carrying out physical testing to ensure it matches our engineering analysis and expectations."

The immediate future will see Vandersee and a support crew of eight people travel to Hobart on April 23 in preparation for the Targa Tasmania rally, where he'll suit up with regular navigator John Allen during the four day event.

But even while the entrepreneur plies his passion behind the wheel during the many stages of the International tarmac feature, there'll be plenty of activity taking place behind the scenes to have the Skelta G-Force moving towards a final completion date.

"The next step in the process should be completed on our return as the cars body shape design will be routed and a mould cast to form the basis of the Skelta body.

"It really is an exciting time for everyone involved with the Skelta G-Force and as that August launch date looms closer I know there'll be a lot of people interested in seeing how the finished product performs during it's debut run at the Leyburn Sprints."

The Skelta Sports Car workshop is based at Vanderfield Pty Ltd on Carrington Road, Toowoomba, Queensland
