Ojeda leads the Spanish Championship after scoring another podium in Llanes.

Enrique Garcia Ojeda became the overall leader of the Spanish Tarmac Rally Championship after stepping on the podium at the Rally Villa de Llanes, the eighth event of the series, when, along with his co-driver Jordi Barrabes, he finished third at the wheel of the Subaru Impreza Prodrive prepared by KRS. The third position overall for the Subaru Rally Team Spain driver also meant a win in the Spanish Trophy for the Group N, category where Ojeda also takes first position in the overall standings, tied with the previous leader, the Catalonian driver Xevi Pons.

The rally, held on the Eastern side of Asturias, started perfectly for Ojeda, who was leading at the end of the first section, taking maximum advantage of the more difficult terrain of the first stages, also run in low temperature, making good use of the excellent traction of his KRS prepared Impreza. However as the temperature rose and the rally was moved to the faster stages, the superior power of the GT and S2000 made it impossible to Ojeda keeping the lead and he was second at the midday Service Park and he dropped down to third after the first afternoon loop. Ojeda kept this third spot to the end, allowing him to score enough points to move up to first place in the provisional standings of the Spanish Championship with just three rallies to go.

Mario Ceballos and Borja Rozada, with the second Subaru Rally Team Spain Impreza Prodrive prepared by KRS also completed the Villa de Llanes, finishing just a step from the top ten after a rally of constant progression, moving up from 14th position after the first stage to the 11th place they took at the finish line in Llanes.

Drivers' comments:

Enrique Garcia Ojeda: "Another rally, like at the 'Principe', where we have been right on the limit the whole day, enjoying it a lot, but the Porsches have shown again that they are in another league and it's impossible to fight them. Now we lead the championship but we have to be very conscious that the Porsches will be very fast in the remaining rallies and that they have won almost everywhere so far."

Mario Ceballos: "It has been a bit better than expected on the Llanes rally as giving the entry list being in the top ten was looking almost impossible but at the end we were close, finishing eleventh, repeating our result at Ferrol, so we are quite happy. We've feel comfortable on the stages and I want to thank the team, they have worked perfectly as usual."
