Duarte Felix da Costa third in GT OPEN after first meeting

Positive debut on the Ferrari 430 GTS

Duarte Felix da Costa had his first experience on the competitive International GT Open this weekend at Imola. After taking a fifth place in the first race on Saturday, the Portuguese driver finished the second race on 4th position after 37 laps at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit marked by the exciting and difficult driving conditions in the rain.

"I have never driven the Ferrari F430 GTS in the wet so in the second race I had to adapt as quick as possible to the 500 hp power of the car and all the tricky wet conditions of the circuit. At the end it turned out to be an interesting race, even without having reached the podium I consider the weekend very positive, collecting important points on both races and being 3rd on the GTS championship" said the leader of the PTCC (Portuguese Touring Car Championship), who has only reached an agreement with Roger Racing last Wednesday before the race.

"This weekend everything was new for me. It was my first contact with the car, the track and the team so our plans are now to learn and develop the car to the next race at Algarve, so that we can be able to fight with Ferrari's official Kessel, who at Imola were completely unreachable, "added Felix da Costa, who thanks to their regularity allows them to get out of Imola in third place in the GT Open Championship GTS class.

About the race of Sunday, the driver of Sowhat Management, which divides the Ferrari 430 GTS with the Spaniard Miguel Julià, says the rain took a bit of the big advantage to the official Ferraris, who already have the upgrade to 2009 but the difference between the two were still felt."

The race on Sunday was won by Philipp Peter and Mikal Boroniszewski (Ferrari F430), followed by Gabriele Lancieri and Max Wiser (Aston Martin DBRS9) in the second post and Stephen Earle and Vadim Kusminykh (Ferrari F430) in the third position.
