First points for Racing Team Edil Cris at Imola in the opening round of the International GT Open.

Race one saw Raffaele Giammaria crossing the finish line in fifth position after concluding a thrilling recovery started by his team mate Alessandro Bonetti, who began the race from the seventeenth place of the grid due to an early track's exit during qualifying.

Retirement for Andrea Montermini and Mattia Pavoni due to a problem during the refuelling pit-stop.

Race two, started behind the safety car on wet tarmac, saw both crews protagonist of some overtaking that allowed Bonetti and Giammaria to conclude fifth again, while Montermini and Pavoni got up to the seventh position.

'We harvested less than what we expected due to some factors and episodes that conditioned the result of both cars' - Team Manager Alberto Brojanigo declared. 'Bonetti and Giammaria obtained some useful points for the championship and we have been competitive on the race pace. This makes us confident for Portimao's weekend.'

The classification sees Rugolo and Ricci (Advanced Engineering) on top with 22 points; Bonetti and Giammaria follow in sixth position at 8 points. Next round of the International GT Open Championship is due next 17 May at Portimao, Portugal.
