Kelly-Moss Motorsports, in association with Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) will begin an exciting new racing series. The "USA GT Championship" will begin on March 27 - 30, 2003 at the new Barber Motorsports Complex in Birmingham, AL. The series will be a sprint format exclusively for Porsche model cars. There will be four classes running together, but scored separately. Classes will include 996 GT3R/RS, 996 Cup, 993 RSR and 993 Cup cars. This format should be the perfect formula for exciting and competitive racing action. While Professional drivers are welcome the series will be geared around the Semi-Professional driver.

The USA GT Championship will be an eight race series at some of the best tracks in America. Venues include Barber Motorsports Complex, Road America, Watkins Glen, California Motor Speedway, Virginia International Raceway, Road Atlanta, Summit Point and the Grand Finale race at Daytona International Speedway followed by a Gala Awards Banquet.

A launch party was held last weekend at Sebring International Raceway where interest from competitors was high. In a show of support, Alwin Springer of Porsche Motorsports North America attended the event. Dunlop tires and Sasco sports have signed on as a major sponsor of the USA GT and will supply all tires and related services for the new series. A special discounted tire price has been negotiated in an effort to reduce the rising cost of racing to all USA GT competitors. Associate sponsors and contingency programs are in the works. Limited sponsorship opportunities are still available.
