Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Drivers and Teams Set to Take on Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, FL-26 January 2010-Drivers and teams with Ford Racing Mustang Challenge experience will be well-represented this weekend as the 2010 GRAND-AM season kicks off with the Fresh From Florida 200 on Friday, and the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Saturday. 2008 and 2009 Mustang Challenge Champion Andrew Caddell will lead that charge, as he collects on the speediest part of his Mustang Challenge Champions Package with his opportunity to race a Ford Mustang in the opening round of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season.

Caddell will be in good company as he has been tabbed to share the controls with defending series Champion Ken Wilden, who played a big part in securing the Manufacturer Championship for Ford in 2009. Caddell made his debut in the series last year at Daytona, scoring a top-ten finish with fellow Mustang Challenge competitor Jim Click.

"Hopefully I can put what I learned last year to good use, and of course having a championship-caliber teammate like Kenny is going to be a big help because he obviously knows his way around in a Mustang!" said Caddell. "I feel like I'm going into this weekend at Daytona knowing a lot more about what to expect, and I'm just eager to see how the race plays out. Hopefully we can be a part of a good start to Ford's championship defense!"

Caddell isn't the only driver to be taking his experience in Mustang Challenge competition into new realms of GRAND-AM competition, as the series continues to prepare drivers for participation in a wide range of categories.

The Fresh From Florida 200 is slated to go green at 1:45 PM ET on Friday, January 29, with the Rolex 24 At Daytona set for a 3:30 green live on SPEED Channel on Saturday, January 30.

Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Drivers and teams heading to Daytona include:

Andrew Caddell (Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Champion, 2008, 2009)

The 2010 Ford Racing Mustang Challenge season will kick off at Homestead-Miami Speedway in March, and will feature a new wrinkle in the championship. Mustang Challenge officials have confirmed the final 2010 Ford Racing Mustang Challenge schedule, which will see the series feature three double-header race weekends and grow to an 11-race calendar.
