Caddell leads opening practice session on Friday

TOOELE, UT (17 September, 2009)--As the drivers in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge look ahead to this weekend's season finale event at the home track Miller Motorsports Park, even the most cagey veterans will see their own hearts racing as the field takes the green flag on Saturday afternoon.

But there might be someone at the track with an even higher level of excitement as Linda Wilson has won the "Ride of your Life" Sweepstakes held by BFGoodrich Tires. Wilson will receive a trip for two this weekend to be a part of the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge event at Miller Motorsports Park thanks to the sweepstakes.

In addition, Wilson will wave the green flag to start the Mustang Challenge race on Saturday.

"I hope I don't drop it on the track!" joked Wilson as she took in the events during the practice day on Friday.

The season-long promotional partnership kicked off in April at Barber Motorsports Park, where a flock of passionate enthusiasts celebrated the 45th Anniversary celebrations for the Ford Mustang. Lucky winners left the weekend with some new BFGoodrich Tires, the opportunity to participate in the Miller Performance Center at Miller Motorsports Park, and the chance to drive a hot lap on the track in their own vehicle.

The program, which attracts entries on both the Mustangchallenge.com website as well as the BFGoodrich Tires site, ran through the season and awarded one set of BFGoodrich Tires ( a range of tires from street equipment to drag race radials at a value over $1200) to one lucky winner after every round of Mustang Challenge competition.

The overall contest, which attracted nearly 10,000 entries, culminated for the year with Wilson winning the prize, which will also see her heart racing as she straps into a Ford Mustang to experience the Miller Performance Center next week.

While Wilson nabbed the honors for this year, the chance to win still will continue as the success of the partnership will see a new series of opportunities to win starting with the 2010 season.

Caddell Leads Practice on Friday

Andrew Caddell is looking to lock up his second consecutive Ford Racing Mustang Challenge championship on Saturday, and the Washington native got his weekend off to a fast start as he led Friday's practice session at Miller Motorsports Park. Pratt Cole was close behind with the second fastest time of the day, with Ted Anthony Jr. third in the order.

The practice session was the follow up track day after the weekend started with a test day on Thursday. Michael DeNino has joined Speedworks R&D for the weekend, bringing the entry list up to 26 for the season-finale event.

Caddell had a busy day, as he and several Mustang Challenge racers left the track to make a nearby hospital visit in conjunction with the Austin Hatcher Foundation.

The final race of the 2009 Mustang Challenge season is slated to take a green flag at 1:30 PM local time on Saturday.
