Borcheller on Pole at Miller Motorsports Park

Tooele, UT (19 September 2008)- StableOne Racing's Terry Borcheller returned to pole-winning form on Friday morning as he set the fastest time in Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup qualifying for race one at Miller Motorsports Park with a time of 3:12.160 seconds. Round seven will take the green flag at 5:30 PM local time, with the season-ending round eight slated for a 3:45 PM start on Sunday.

Borcheller will be taking the fight into turn one in familiar company, as his championship-leading StableOne Racing teammate Andrew Caddell locked in the second position with a lap that was just .3-seconds behind Borcheller on the 4.486-mile long course outside of Salt Lake City.

"I've had a ball racing in the Mustang Challenge so far this year, but I haven't been happy with some of my qualifying results so it was great to get a clean run in today," said Borcheller. "Nathan has done a great job with the team and Caddell and I are working well together--we went different ways with our set up to find out what was best, and it was a great team effort. It's exciting to see things coming together like this for the team, and I'm just looking forward to another clean race this afternoon."

"I'm happy for Terry to get the pole, but I'll admit I was hoping to keep my streak going," said Caddell, who has fastidiously avoided any mathematic work in terms of calculating his championship scenario in advance of Friday's race start. "But I was really happy with the time I put in, so if Terry went quicker than that, I can't complain. I'd like to just get a good race in this afternoon and lock this championship up and then go have some fun on Sunday."

Pratt Cole made his return to Mustang Challenge competition in a familiar way, posting a strong qualifying time to score third on the grid.

"I did what I had to do, but it wasn't enough to break into the front row," said Cole, who was on the first-ever Mustang Challenge podium in May. "But I'm ok with being the best of the rest for now, and even though I'm tired of following Andrew (Caddell) around, I'm really happy for him to see what's going on with his career and how much he's made of this opportunity."

Round 7 of the 2008 Mustang Challenge season will get underway at 5:30 PM local on Friday afternoon.
