The Formula SCCA Championship Added To Mosport Weekend

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (May 4, 2004) -The Cooper Tires Championship Series today announced it has returned the Formula SCCA Championship to the Victoria Day Weekend at Mosport International Raceway, May 21-23.

Looking to build on the success of the Sebring and Road Atlanta events, the Cooper Series held discussions with Formula SCCA teams owners. With the continued development of the Formula SCCA Van Diemen car and the availability of new gearbox parts, the teams supported the return of Mosport to the 2004 schedule.

Competing on the demanding 2.459-mile road course, the Formula SCCA Championship will contest Round Five of the 2004 season. On track activities for the traditional Victoria Day weekend event will commence Thursday, May 19, with the Cooper Tires Championship Series taking part in a promoters test day. Racing in conjunction with the Formula SCCA Championship will be the Formula Ford Zetec Championship, SCCA Pro Racing MazdaSpeed Miata Cup and ISSECO/KUMHO Formula Vee Championship.

Racing throughout the United States and Canada, the Cooper Series showcases the best up-and-coming drivers from around the world on a challenging mix of racetracks.
