CENTENNIAL, Colo. (August 9, 2002) - SCCA Pro Racing Ltd. has named Ken Grammer its Director of Operations. Grammer will start with the company September 2.

The new position will oversee all operational aspects of SCCA Pro Racing and its racing series, as well as assume inner-office duties performed by current Director of Finance / Administration Robyn Jones, who will step down when the company relocates its headquarters to Topeka, Kan., November 15.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of supporting one of the best pro racing organizations in North America," said Grammer, 42. "SCCA Pro Racing, and, specifically, the SPEED World Challenge series, has seen amazing growth recently. Working to ensure the continued success of North America's fastest growing series will be my top priority."

The current Regional Executive of the Alabama Region SCCA, Grammer joins the SCCA Pro Racing staff after 20 years as a technical project and team manager in the computer industry, most recently serving as Manager of Systems Support for a telecom billing company in Birmingham, Ala. An active SCCA member since 1996, Grammer has experience in many racing disciplines, having served as a crew chief and team manager for a professional team, worked as both a starter and in Flagging & Communications and raced competitively. He has earned several regional Championships and been honored with several regional awards, including Alabama Region Rookie of the Year and National Driver of the Year. In addition to serving as Alabama Region Regional Executive, Grammer has also served on the region's Board of Directors.

"Ken brings a wealth of operational and organizational experience to SCCA Pro Racing," said Mitch Wright, SCCA Pro Racing Vice President and General Manager. "His enthusiasm for the sport is a tremendous asset, and he will bring a new perspective to the operations and organization end of our business."

Grammer will work alongside Jones prior to the move to Kansas. Jones has been with the company since 1980, and will remain in Colorado with husband, former IMSA Champion and Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, John and their two children.

"Robyn Jones has given her entire professional career to SCCA Pro Racing," said Wright. "She has seen every peak and valley that Pro Racing has gone through, and will leave the company on an upswing, largely due to her own efforts as an integral part of our team."

Grammer, his wife Stacey, and their three children will relocate from their Alabaster, Ala. home to Topeka in November.
