JIM RUSSELL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES ANNOUNCES 2009 SCHEDULE
Special Race Announced for IndyCar Weekend on August 23, 2009

SONOMA, CA. February 19, 2009 -- Ready to build upon its successful and competitive inaugural year, the new Jim Russell Championship Series (JRCS) has announced the 2009 season schedule-- kicking off on April 18 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.

JRCS, the official racing series of the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School, will feature an eight-race schedule that will conclude on November 13, where two champion drivers will be announced, one for the Championship Class and one for the Masters Class. All eight JRCS race weekends include two races per weekend, coaching from expert racing drivers and access to deluxe hospitality at the Jim Russell complex located at Turn 1 of Infineon Raceway. The 2009 JRCS race schedule also includes three official testing dates and eight official practice dates. All JRCS races are held at the Infineon Raceway, one of the most challenging race tracks in North America. JRCS also announced that it will host a non-points paying race at the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma IndyCar weekend on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Drivers will compete in front of more than 40,000 Indy race fans, sponsors, guests and support personnel.

"The Jim Russell Championship Series was created to foster and identify talent in its graduates and competitors," said Chip Pankow, President of the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School and Jim Russell Championship Series. "With the new car, new technology, JRCS provides drivers with the highest level of competition and the most modern tools necessary to help advance their careers to the next level."

JRCS features a complete driver training program that includes instruction from some of the finest coaches in the world, technical instruction from industry leaders and educational seminars on how to be a complete race car driver. The Jim Russell Racing Drivers School program has a progressive ladder program where talent and achievement on the race track are rewarded with opportunities to rise onto the next level of the motorsports ladder. The program's focus is on the continuous improvement of on-track performance through analysis of driving style and associated skills.

JRCS participants race in the Jim Russell FJR-50, which is one of the most advanced racing cars available. The FJR-50 is purpose-built to be the ideal learning platform for drivers, providing a modern, relevant link between the existing levels of motorsport; with special attention to the transition that young drivers will make from karting to a formula car. The FJR-50 is also fitted with an integrated state of the art Pi Research data acquisition system. Coaches and drivers review driver inputs to help facilitate the most effective evaluation of each drivers progress. By training and racing in this car, drivers are better prepared for the upper levels of motorsport as the FJR-50 is based on the successful and proven Lola B06-30 championship winning Formula 3 car.

The 2009 Championship Series promises to continue the fierce competition created during the 2008 Championship Series which was decided at the last race. On December 12, 2008, Brett Smrz clinched the Championship and Nick Galante won the Masters division. Smrz recorded the fastest lap of the race at 1:31.437. By comparison, Indy Light and IndyCar racing run times of 1:25 and 1:16 respectively. The battle for the Masters Championship was just as fierce with Nick Galante, Will Hill and Chuck Hulse finishing the season in first, second and third, respectively.
