ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (March 23, 2000) -- SCCA Pro Racing has announced the addition of four dates for the 2000 Pro Spec Racer schedule. Added to the 2000 Pro Spec Racer schedule are Pikes Peak International Raceway, Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, Memphis Motorsports Park and a venue to be announced. Of the additions to the 2000 schedule, Pikes Peak International Raceway is the only track were the Pro Spec Racer series has previously competed. Returning to PPIR for its fourth-consecutive year, the Pro Spec Racer series will once again race on the 1.0-mile oval in support of the Indy Racing Northern Light Series Radisson 200. Rounds Four and Five of the schedule mark the series' debut at the 1.8-mile Hallett Motor Racing Circuit and the 1.8-mile Memphis Motorsports Park respectively. Both rounds will be run in conjunction with the newly-formed United States Formula Three Championship. The weekend of August 18-20, the Pro Spec Racer series will race at an event to announced by the promoter during an April 4 press conference. "We are very excited to add these great events to the 2000 Pro Spec Racer schedule," said Bob Anderson, Pro Spec Racer Series Manager. "With the addition of these new events in 2000, a whole new group of fans will get to experience the excitement of Pro Spec Racer racing." The next round of the Pro Spec Racer series is May 20 at Mosport International Raceway.

Round 4 June 17 Pikes Peak International Raceway Indy Racing Northern Light Series Fountain, Colo., 1.0-mile oval

Round 5 June 25 Hallett Motor Racing Circuit United States Formula Three Championship Hallett, Okla., 1.8-mile road course

Round 6 July 9 Memphis Motorsports Park United States Formula Three Championship Memphis, Tenn., 1.8-mile road course

Round 7 August 20 TBA Speedvision World Challenge Championship

Round 8 October 14 Lime Rock Park Busch Grand National Lakeville, Conn. 1.53-mile road course

Round 9 November 18 Aruba Motorsports Complex BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series Oranjestad, Aruba, W.I., 2.7-mile road course
