"ArmsUp Motorsports Ready to Defend June Sprints Formula Atlantic Title"

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. -- ArmsUp Motorsports is fully prepared to defend its June Sprints Atlantic victory after a good tune up last weekend at the Road America track during an SCCA Double Regional. ArmsUp drivers Jim Victor and Chris Menninga both scored victories in Formula Continental Formula Atlantic respectively on a weekend that was used to test for the June Sprints.

During last season's June Sprints ArmsUp Motorsports made a huge splash after sitting 1-2-3 in Formula Continental Qualifying and taking a commanding victory in Formula Atlantic.

This season the team will look to more of the same with Formula Atlantic winner Chris Menninga returning to the wheel of the # 55 swift .014 car that he took to victory last year. Joining Menninga on the Formula Atlantic side of the ArmsUp paddock will be 2002 FA National Champion Mike Biangardi. Biangardi who tested with the team earlier has to be considered among the favorites to win. J.M. Paredes will steer the third Swift .014 for the team as he will hope for a better result over last season where he was forced to retire early.

On the continental side of the paddock, ArmsUp Motorsports will bring a four car armada. Last season's pole sitter Jim Victor will lead the charge. Victor, who has three National podiums to his credit this season, is coming off a double victory at last weeks regional. Joining Victor will be Kirk Kindsfater, who was second in the 1-2-3 qualifying effort from a year before and is looking to recover from a run of bad luck early in the season. Both Brian Shepherd and Walter Vollrath will compete in their first June Sprints. Brian will be working to build off his top-ten finish at his last outing. Vollrath will not only be making his Sprints debut, but this will also be the Elkhart Lake resident's first national.

"This is a big race for us," commented team owner Gregg Borland. "Road America is our home track and all of our guys love coming here. So to do well in this race means a lot to the team and to our drivers. I think we have a really good chance as well. We showed our speed last year in both classes and I see no reason why we can't win both Atlantic and Continental this year."

This years June Sprints starts Friday, June 23rd for practice and qualifying. The green flag on the headline formula car race of Formula Atlantic and Formula Continental is scheduled to wave Sunday afternoon.
