"ArmsUp Motorsports Grabs Two SCCA National Wins in Two Weeks"

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. -- Revere Greist and Pat McGinnis each came home with SCCA Formula Continental National wins for ArmsUp Motorsports in a two week span. Greist and the ArmsUp team put in a dominating performance at the SCCA Cat National sweeping the top two positions in FC with Greist winning and Kirk Kindsfater running a close second. One week later Pat McGinnis scored his maiden FC triumph during the SCCA Heat Wave National at the Gateway International Speedway. The two wins provide some good momentum for the team as the SCCA National Championship Runoffs draw ever closer.

Coming off of a few strong tests at Road America the ArmsUp team had high hopes for the Cat National. The team did not disappoint putting in a dominating performance. Kirk Kindsfater scored his first pole of the season, Greist followed in second on the grid. The two ArmsUp drivers left no mistake about their race intentions as they had a 1.4 second gap back to the third place car in qualifying.

In the race the ArmsUp drivers would swap positions with Greist Taking the win and Kindsfater coming home second. The result gave the Greist his first national SCCA victory at Road America and ArmsUp Motorsports its first one -- two sweep at the Cat National. Jim Victor led the rest of the squad with a seventh place result after starting fourth. Pat McGinnis was 12th, Jeff Pietz 13th, John Dickmann 14th and Noble Heller was 17th for the ArmsUp Motorsports squad.

From the Cat National the ArmsUp Motorsports squad moved on to the aptly named SCCA Heat Wave National at the Gateway International Raceway just north of St. Louis. Pat McGinnis and Jose Paredes ran in Formula Continental and Formula Atlantic respectively on the Gateway roval. This was Paredes first race away from Road America in several years and he responded by claiming the overall pole position. McGinnis would take his first buckeye of the year as well with the pole in FC.

In the race McGinnis would hold his pole advantage and take the lead. The St. Louis native would go on to lead the FC race flag to flag to score his first ever SCCA National victory in front of his home crowd. Paredes led the FA class early from his pole position. Midway through the race however Paredes clipped a wing that had been deposited on the course spinning the car. The Illinois driver was able to get the car pointed in the right direction and still came home with a second place result. ArmsUp Motorsports would like to congratulate Jim Gustafson who took home the FA victory in what was his last start in SCCA competition as he will now move on to vintage competition.

"That was a very good two weeks for us," Gregg Borland commented from the ArmsUp race-shop. "Our FC program is really coming together. Kirk and Revere were lightening quick at the Cat and that bodes really well for us at the Runoffs. Jose and Pat did a great job at Gateway, both drivers went there to score points to help them make the Runoffs. Both drivers did just that and came home with some Buckeyes on their cars."

ArmsUp Motorsports will now head to Grattan Michigan August 8th. Jose Paredes will continue his tour of the Midwest in his quest for an invitation to the SCCA Runoff's in the Formula Atlantic Category.
